“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.” -Buddha

The 21st century,eh?

To live in this country, during this century, you have to learn to laugh at yourself.
This just represents our overall dependence on technology and our laziness. It was too difficult to sit at a chair at a desktop computer. We had to make one to fit on our lap, so we could surf the internet and watch television at the same time!
Why use words to express yourself when you can use your face!? We are a culture of gestures and facial expressions. We can have whole conversations without saying a word.
Unfortunately, I see these ridiculous gang signs EVERYWHERE i go! They have become such a huge part of our culture, or at least the culture in our area, that this little boy has somehow gotten the idea that making them and his hairstyle, are cool. Ahhh, the golden arches. Everyone in the Chicagoland area probably has a Mcdonald's within walking distance of their house. Do you think they ever actually walk there? NO, because you know what they are " lovin' " ? Driving up to the drive thru, and stuffing their faces with grease that has been hardened and painted like a hamburger.
The typical faded, ripped and ridiculously short, miniskirt. They are all over the place these days. You see them on teenagers, little girls, and older women who are desperately trying to be young again. Why have a skirt cover your private area, when you can show it off to the whole word and get a nice breeze?

Who am I?

Who am I really? I'm a stubborn introvert that enjoys wearing clothes that have experienced a past life, in someone else's wardrobe. I refuse to drive my car unless the windows are down and the music is so loud that I can feel it in my chest. I have a very difficult time making any type of decision, which often becomes a problem when I place my order at McDonald's. Just kidding, that place is disgusting. I recently stopped eating red meat to try and lose weight, and shed a couple of insecurities along the way. I feel a great love for our earth and try my best to keep it clean and healthy. When I leave highschool I plan to go to a community college and then onto a small-ish university where I will hopefully major in Environmental Science, or something similar. It's also a dream of mine to join the Peace Corps and travel to a country where I can use the Spanish that I have learned. My ultimate goal is to share my knowledge with others in some way, but I'm not sure how I plan to do it yet. I truly feel like I was put onto this earth to help others, whether it be a shoulder to cry on, a tutor for an ESL class, or a volunteer at an animal shelter. It is the greatest feeling ever!

I love to laugh and cry, but mostly cry because it makes me feel alive. I enjoy spending time with my close friends and family. I am OBSESSED with resale shops, antique stores, and flea markets. I'd rather buy something old than new anyday. My favorite place to be is upstairs in my bedroom. It is truly my sanctuary. Every item on display has great meaning and represents me or a memory. If you could see a picture of my soul, it would look exactly like my room. You'll probably see me on 'Hoarders' in 10 years because I can't bring myself to get rid of anything because I'm so afraid of change. My favorite color is yellow, favorite food is chinese and favorite flower is a sunflower.

There is so much more than only time spent with me can help you learn.
